Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipe
6 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
3 squares (3 oz) unsweetened chocolate
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 beaten eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
cinnamon sticks
In saucepan, combine milk, sugar, chocolate, ground cinnamon and salt. Heat and stir until chocolate melts and milk is very hot. Gradually stir 1 cup of the hot mixture into eggs. Return to saucepan. Cook 2-3 minutes more over low heat. Add vanilla, beat with rotary beater until very frothy. Pour into mugs. Garnish with cinnamon sticks.
